BEING A MEMBER OF

 4th WORTHING GUIDES

Once you have signed your G-Card and Constitution
you are a full and active Member of 4th Worthing Guides!

We hope you have been on the Girlguiding UK or Sussex West website and your Parents/Guardians have looked at the Information for Parents Section.

A Guide can make her promise any time that she feels ready to do so.  Information is in the G-File, Welcome Pack, and website all of which may give you some ideas. Once you have made your promise and received your Promise Badge you can work towards your 1st Year Challenge Badge!

Guides are expected to keep their own records and there is usually plenty of space to do so in your G-File.  Should the need arise we give out printed sheets to assist in record keeping which are made to go in your G-File.
Sometimes we print out pages with other helpful information on, like how to tie a bed roll for camp, flag folding with knots and so on.

The Programme is also e-mailed termly so that everyone should be aware of the activities and sometimes the change of time and venue.  This is again in A5 size which can be printed and filed in the G-File as well if wanted.  A copy is also posted on the Notice Board and placed in the cloaks area each Friday.  We would respectfully request that we be advised of any evening a Guide is unable to attend.  Advance warning means we are able to cater for the correct numbers enabling us to ensure we do not waste any resources and saves funds for other activities, and means subs can remain constant.

Guide wear should be worn to all Guide evenings.  However, sometimes when we are doing a Guides own evening like GFI's then it is arranged in the Patrol what is suitable.  Also information on what is safe and practical to wear is on the One Day Activity Forms that are produced for various activities.

One Day Activity Forms are e-mailed and give information regarding an activity when we are not at the hall.  They contain comprehesive details and should therefore be carefully read.  We will ALWAYS require the bottom part of this form be duly completed and returned.  A Guide CANNOT do that activity with it.  Use this emergency One Day Activity Form if necessary.

By now every Guide should feel happy to discuss any aspect of Guides with her Leaders, her Patrol Leader, or Young Leaders.  We are all here to help and have fun, grow as individuals, work as a team, and listen to and care for each other.
