WELCOME TO 4th WORTHING GUIDES

For those joining us from Brownies, welcome, and although you will already know a lot about being a member of Girlguiding UK you may still find the following information useful.

If you have never been a member before, welcome, we hope you will enjoy your time with
us and have tried to give you some helpful information below to enable you to get the
 most of being a Guide.

There is a special website just for Guides, with all sorts of information, like Go For It’s GFI's (an important activity in Guides which ideally you need to complete at least 2 a year), Badges, making your Promise, Guide wear, and Fun & Games etc.  We are part of Sussex West so you may find this website useful too.  There is also a Parents Section which has valuable comprehesive information.
Subs are payable termly or half termly in advance.  Details of the amount are on the Programme.  Subs are only £2.50 a week and payable whether you attend or not, cash or Cheques to 4th Worthing please, or by BACS with the reference of the Guides name so we know who has paid!  This includes the yearly subsciption which is currently £17 per member.
Guide wear may be chosen and worn immediately, available from our shop next to the hall.  They stock the various options, which you can try on.  Opening Saturday morning, Tuesday evening, and Thursday afternoon.  We give Welcome Packs which include information to be returned by Parent/Guardian and is enclosed in a sling bag to keep your Guide items in.  Please get a G-File as soon as possible, also from the shop.  It has loads of information and is needed to keep your Guide records in.  Sometimes we give out printed sheets to go in it too.  We have our own Constitution, which is updated yearly and signed by all Guides and Leaders alike.  It is the rules of how our Unit is run and only Guides who feel able to keep these rules can sign them and be a member of 4th Worthing Guides.
Notices are e-mailed to be eco friendly, save admin costs, and ensure they are received and not mislaid in bags or left behind.  Please feel free to give us a Parent and Guide e-mail address.  A copy of the Programme and any Notices are also placed in the hallway of our meeting hall each week.

Should you wish to discuss any aspect of Guides with us, then please do not hesitate to contact any of our wonderful voluntary Team members who give up their time so generously.  We are very lucky to have them all and would be unable to exist without them.
